Lawyer in Italy specialized in italian citizenship

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Post by sonsolesg »

Hi I'm planning to go to Spain or Italy to get my Italian citizenship so I'm looking a lawyer specialized in Italian citizenship.
Does somebody knows someone serious and responsible?
Thank you very much.

Someone on this board gave me this website. I personally cannot vouch for him, but he is an Italian attorney that specializes in citizenship. You can check into him more if you'd like to. His website is

Luigi's name comes up every now and again on this and other forums. I don't recall anyone ever reporting that they actually have used him or what the results may have been.

thanks for your attention in our legal services.

The quickest way to get the italian citizenship having an italian ancestors is to apply in italy.

By italian law it is not necessary to apply where it was born the italian ancestor.

Ciao Sonsolesg,

Any reason you don't want to use Luigi? I have rolled around the idea of applying in Italy and am wondering if you see a red flag or something that is keeping you wary of Luigi.

It seems to me to be very costly considering that the applicant still has to do the bulk of the work...

I can understand hiring an attorney for cases where the applicant is challenging a facet of the law (such as the "1948 rule" where Luigi claims to have had some success), but not for routine jus sanguinis situations.

Yeah, I suppose you're both right. 2,000 Euro does seem high for something that you can do at a local consulate.

if there are errors on the documents or you cant find the listed acceptable ones I.E only can find military record. It might be nice to have someone fight for you! that is the only reason I am considering it. But please if anyone has names of lawyers keep posting because I am interested in alternatives to.

I believe this lawyer has been mentioned frequently on www.expatsinitaly.com You may want to ask about him there, because I believe some have had direct experience with him.

In order to apply in Italy, you must be a legal resident. However, most people other than some retirees who meet the guaranteed income requirements without performing work in Italy, cannot qualify for an Elective Residence Visa issued by a Consulate in the USA.

But Luigi can establish a temporary legal residency for you while you're in Italy as a tourist. If you have all of your papers in order and an extra $2,000 to spare, it might be a good idea to check out this option rather than waiting two years for an appointment at a Consulate in the USA.
