Looking for information of Giovanni Battista Borzani o Borsa
I'm looking for information related to my great-grandfather Giovanni Battista Borsani or Borzani. He traveled aboard the ship "Messico" in 1882 from Genova to Veracruz, Mexico with his wife Carolina Lepori and two daughters; Orsola and Fiorina. According to some birth records of some of his children, he was born around 1852 somewhere in the Province of Como, Milan. He resided in the colony "Carlos Pacheco" in Mexico until his death in 1928. His dad was Carlo Borzani and according to some stories Giovanni had a brother that migrated to the US. I haven't been able to find any information related to the ship manifesto.

Hi Marty, the name of his mother was Ambrosia, but I am having difficulties reading her last name. In spanish was written as "Tolla" that if I use the italian phonetics it would be "Togia", but I am not sure that last name exists.

Hi and welcome!
The surname Borsani, spelled with one S, is fairly common in Lombardy, around Como and Milan. But both Como and Milan provinces back then were bigger than they are now, and comprised areas of Varese, Lecco and Monza-Brianza, so every small clue you can provide can be very helpful.
As for the mother surname, based on the spanish pronunciation of "Tolla", I suppose it could be Toia (also spelled "Toja") and this also points to the same region, as well as the given name Ambrogia or Ambrosia

Re: Looking for information of Giovanni Battista Borzani o B
Hi Paola52, thank you for your reply. Yes, those entries that you found in family search are from my Family. I am originally from Mexico, and I have all of those documents. My great-grandfather emigrated to Mexico in Feb 1882 on a ship from Genova named "Messico", but in most documents he stated he was from the province of Milan. His name was Giovanni Battista "Borzani" or "Borsani" and his wife was Carolina "Lepori" or "Lepore". They emigrated to Mexico with 2 kids, Orsola and Fiorina that I believe around that time they were 9 and 7 yo. They had more kids in Mexico: Justo, Micaela, Vicente and Luis. On the registries of those kids is that I found the name of Giovanni's father and mother: Carlo and Ambrosia(or Ambrogia), and that they were from the province of Milan. My great- grandmother's parents emigrated with her to Mexico, their names were Bartolomeo Lepuri and Florencia(Fiorina) Vidal.
The entries that I am looking for are the ones from Italy. I have searched everywhere and I haven't been able to find the town in Italy where they were from or any entry related to his dad Carlo.
Thanks so much for your help
