Can you apply for citizenship at any conusulate in the US?

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

I understand that consuls have jurisdiction, but are you able to apply at any consulate? The consulate that us under Alaska's jurisdiction is San Fransisco, but I need to go to Arizona to visit family soon so the obvious choice would be to visit LA to apply instead of going to SF. Is this possible?

NO, the LA consulate will not work for you. You must apply at the consulate that has jurisdiction for the place where you have legal residence and you have to be able to prove it with the proper ID, i.e., driver's license, utility bill, social security statement, etc.

Would my family be able to help me in any way? I have a sister that lives in Arizona.
