Marcantonio family, need help

Post by nemo_86 »

Hi guys

my name is chris nimmo, Im from Ayrshire, Scotland, and I'm trying to track down my ancestors, in the effort to apply for dual citizenship.

My great grandmothers name is Laura Nimmo (maiden name is Marcantonio)
She was born on 20th august 1899 and passed on 13th april 1989.

Her parents are Lorenzo Marcantonio and Maria Marcantonio (maiden name Palombo)

Does this ring a bell for anyone??

I was also wondering is anyone could point me in the direction of the birth registary website for italian nationals.

My family were from Picinisco and thanks to Michel Vacca I have been able to trace my family back to 1550 --how can I go back further?

I have no idea how you apply but your great grandma , Laura , was my aunt (father,s sister)--she is sitting far left on the attached photo taken in 1917 in Perth at my cousin's christening --Jolanda who died this week at age 93
In the photo are 5 of my other aunts and my Grandparents Lorenzo and Maria
I live in Ayr

Hi, wow I wasnt expecting as quick a response as that.

I believe we may be related in some way or another.

From the information I have gathered from the 1891 scottish census. My Great great grand parents were Gioseppe and Maria Palombo. At the time of the census they lived on Great western road, glasgow and they were involved in ice cream in some way or another.

My father was John Lawrence nimmo, Grandfather was Gavin Lawrence Nicol Nimmo, Great grandparents were Laura Marcantonio and John Nimmo

Thank you for the picture, I live in Coylton.

Regards
Chris

Hello,
I am looking for information for Marie Marcantonio, she is my Mom, and she is probably using her madien name ,Marie Cunha, now, presently. She was born and married(around 1957) in Newark ,New Jersey to Prosper Marcantonio of 122 Palm ST.I am one of her three children. My gender was male ,but has now changed to female. Unfortunately she doesnot speak to me,but I need to know if she is alive or not. She is around 68-70 years of age presently.
I grew up in Irvington,NJ, in the 60's and 70's.
I would like to know if she ( my Mother ) is alive or deceased.
Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated. I can be contacted via email at:
zoie3196@gmail.com.
Thank you for your assistance.
Sincerely,
Ms. Gabriella Jean Antoinette

Marcantonio can be found in Picinisco and Gallinaro. Palumbo is also found in both these towns and Villa Latina and surrounding area.
