Re: Looking for origins of my family name Amati-Buonaccorsi
Thank you! Most of my family lives in Salerno, In Southern Italy. my Nonno's immigrated from Northern Italy to Salerno. No one has a clue why. We believe these dates to have been around the late 1800s as my father was born in 1924 in Salerno. My Nonna who s name is Boinega came with her two sisters to Salerno from Le Marche around the same time.
Re: Looking for origins of my family name Amati-Buonaccorsi
My Nonno's name was Vincenzo Gaetano Amati -Buonaccorsi and my Nonna was Anna Boinega. I know my Nonno also had three other brothers as my Papa always said he didn't know what had happened to his Zios.

Re: Looking for origins of my family name Amati-Buonaccorsi
Let us understand something more...your GF was from Northern Italy: don't you know from where? Did his brothers move with him to Salerno? According to White Pages, the surname can only be found in Salerno. Have you ever contacted your relatives in Salerno to get some info?

Yes, he was. I'm told he was from Mantova. I know the name cannot be found there as a whole. I'm finding it difficult to find the link. My family have some info, but no enough.
Re: Looking for origins of my family name Amati-Buonaccorsi
I was quite lucky, and found Anna Boinega's birth act:

The side notation states she married Vincenzo Amati Bonaccorsi in Salerno on Dec 31st, 1921.

Re: Looking for origins of my family name Amati-Buonaccorsi
Now, you could write to the Commune of Salerno to request a "copia integrale" of your GP's marriage, as you know the exact date. In it, you should be able to find their place of birth, and names of parents.
