Soriero is not listed among the Italian surname dictionary indicating that it was either local in origin based upon nickname, some local occupation peculiar to the town of origin or even imported from abroad and Italianized. Since you did not furnish the town of origin for your family I was unable to probe history of the town or the number of people with that surname. Sorry

The Soriero side of my family was from Ruvo del Monte province of Potenza. I appreciate your insight
