Thank you very much. Are you doing your research via ancestry.com? I can read most of the documents you have sent me. My Italian is not the best and some documents are just easier to read than others. On this death certificate I think it is also providing some occupation information, is that true? One other question; on Maria Guiseppa Olita (Olinta), it simply says she was abandoned in the document and has no parents. Why would they document her with a last name unless she was taken in at birth? I am just a little stunned by the news.

Yes I am researching through ancestry.com. Both Saverio and Luigi were pastore/shepherds
It says the she was presented by Francesca Labriola age 42 she was the receiver of foundlings and she was given the name Maria Guiseppa Olinta. Like I said the parents could have recognized her at a later date I will check

Have a great trip to Italy I think possible since Saverio Olita son of Felice Olita was born in a house on via Sangiacomo in Pignola I think I would check the closest church for the baptism records which would be PARROCCHIA S. MARIA MAGGIORE via Dante Alighieri 23 Pignola

a very quick search shows the surname Olita in his database, also.

I appreciate your help. I have been looking at the records too. I had always wondered what happened to Saverio Olita. He had come to America and just disappeared. It seems that he went back to Italy. I knew he had a wife in Italy and she never came to America.
