Road map to Gioiosa Marea multi-year records on FamilySearch

Post by VotM »

The issue of navigating through the LDS multi-year record collections on FamilySearch.org appears to have come up a few times over the years. Here, then, is a link to my working road map of the those records. It gives the image numbers for each year's index, first image for that year and last image for that year. It also re-orders some of the out-of-order years.

Record ordering for each year's index will vary. Some indicies are in chronological order, some in order by first name, and some in order by last name. (And sometimes an individual name may be written in reverse order from the others!)

I did not create a map for the single year collections. In most cases the pages for each of those are in order and the index is in the final images for that year. But be aware that sometimes the images for those years are out of order as well and that you'll need to hunt down the index... and that sometimes there is no index present.

The bottom area points to a few Patti records that were found outside of their expected documents.

If anyone ever comes across some of the missing entries that are in the notes or the missing 1877 birth records in another collection, please LMK; I'll be happy to add them in!

This road map has been updated and placed on FamilySearch. One key update is the identification of Galbato's records for year prior to 1868.
