Giancano Casareggio b NERVI

Post by Ken Brown »

Hello from New Zealand.
My G Grandfather Giancano Casareggio was born abt 9 July 1925 in Nervi, Genova. He was a Mariner and emigrated to NZ abt. 1860 where he was naturalised George Gozar. I have an original letter from his mother Paola Casareggio. He had siblings Luigi, Constantino, Concelina, Marina, and Giancano. I have researched familysearch records of ATTI DI MORTE 1869-1910 for Nervi and have several images.
Is there a genealogist hopefully in Nervi that would consider researching parish records to find more details of his birth and family. I am happy to reimburse all expenses.
Kind Regards
Ken Brown, 72yrs old

Hi, by 1806 Nervi census (available on line) was these Casareggios:
Pierre Casareggio born on 1780

Jacques Casareggio son of late Joseph born on 1766

I believe that the father of Giancano could be Pierre (Piero) Casareggio...

Hi Suanj
Thank you so much for your prompt and helpful reply. I would very much like you to proceed to research my Great grand father Giancano Casareggio. I do know that he had a family in NZ, a son called George Joseph and my grandmother Catherine, and 3 others. Please let me know how I can forward money to you, do you have a Visa card?
Please keep in touch
Kind regards

I know a genealogist near Genova; she is a good researcher, but not a real professional (she has another job in her life). If you want, I can ask her if she is interested. You can send me a PM.
