Can't find file #258

Post by Robin B Mc »

I'm looking for the record in this decade index for Potestio Vincenzo fu Giuseppe - Year 1888, #258, right?

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/T ... ,246758101

Well, when I go to year 1888, the records stop at #254: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/T ... ,246758101

Equally, there's no #258 in the annual index so I know they didn't just get out of order somehow - there is simply no record #258: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/T ... ,246758101

I did notice that the records seem to stop in October, so I'm wondering if the last part of the year is missing. I guess the decade index was created before the records were lost? Or is there something else going on that I'm missing?

Thank you! I thought I'd checked at the end after the index but I guess not.

As you can see by the previous post, this is one of those occasional cases where the Annual Index was misplaced between the records in one year instead of being placed at the end of the year. Then as strange as it may seem, only part of the annual index was placed here and the rest concluded after the balance of the records for that year.

That happened for several years in this town, it's been very difficult to find all the indices and I still have concerns I'm missing some.
