Buona Epifania

As a nation state, Italy has emerged only in 1871. Until then the country was politically divided into a large number of independant cities, provinces and islands. The currently available evidences point out to a dominant Etruscan, Greek and Roman cultural influence on today's Italians.

Buona Epifania

Post by Biff83 »

Last night, on the twelfth day of Christmas, La Befana made her annual visit.

May she have filled everyone's stockings with health and blessings for the year.

Buona Epifania a tutti!

Same to you, Biff. It is indeed a happy day for the children in Italy. There were many out in the Piazza last night with their parents and they were acting as excited as kids can be. My younger brother was born on Epifani. When he was baptized the Priest told my parents that he would be a good son because he was brought by the three kings.
