i am trying to decipher / verify the location-residence of Michele Purcaro, bride's father at the time of the marriage.

it looks like "domiciliato negli ???? in Capua"

I am not so sure, but I'd say it might be "negli aresti di Capua" = "in jail in Capua".
I also remember from other threads that Michele Purcaro was a patriot who was arrested in 1832...

i recently came across an article on this ancestor and one of the footnotes states, "Il tentativo fu subito soffocato e i due Purcaro, con altri, rinchiusi nel carcere di S. Maria Apparente, e dopo vessazioni e torture furon condannati, Vito a 30 anni a il padre (michele) a 20"."

I found one church with that name in Naples, which according to some internet sources, housed political prisoners...but, it's not capua. and i am still at a loss for any "prisons" in capua. tracking Michele has been a challenge, as his death record is not in the Ariano records that I could locate.

Maybe they meant the prison of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, the ancient Capua...There, there was a jail for political prisoners

i am coming around again this family line......

given that michele purcaro was a political prisoner, would his death record be in the town of santa maria capua vetere? it is not in the records of the town of his birth. if so, does anyone know if the records are online? would there be a separate set of records for political prisoners?
