Help Translate this Postcard

Post by leetchie »

Hi everyone. My grandmother's cousin gave me this postcard that he found and I'd like help translating it. I can pick out bits and pieces, and I believe it is a girl writing to her uncle and for some reason she seems to be offering condolences, but I can't figure out if she says why or if she mentions any other information. I'd greatly appreciate any help!!! Thanks!!! -Mike

I leave out mistakes, and try a literal translation...

Dear uncle,
you can't imagine what joy I felt in my little heart when your dear letter arrived, as Dad always told me he had a cousin in America, but we had no news (from him).
I'm the only daughter in our dear family, and now I send you a dear picture of our family gathered with granpa Palerio (?). Waiting for your pictures to know you. Greetings from grandpa, mum, and dad, and greetings and kisses from me to my aunt and my cousin Palerio, that I wish so much to see. I'm your little niece Troiano Giovannina.

Dear cousin, this is our family group.
