Very happy to do this Dolores :D I've just been thinking about the name "Carrabs". It would be quite interesting to know where it originated from? I had a little search but couldn't find anything significant. It reminded me a little of the name Carrabbas - might be related? One of those names to research on a rainy day.

I thought the name, Carrabs was strange for an Italian, Angela, but I am sure I will be uncovering more.........

Same here, that's why I was puzzled by it and so did a search. I'm getting together with a friend shortly, and need to get my skates on, so may come back to this later if I have time :)

Thank you, it was lovely catching up. I'm none the wiser about the surname Carrabs. Maybe someone else can enlighten us. Angela :)

According to www.paginebianche.it "Carrabs" seems to be a not uncommon surname (I did't expect that...). There are 109 occurrences (my surname has only 44) most from Sardinia and Campania. The others should be from emigration to Roma and the North.

Thank you Pippo. Yes I was also surprised to see so many Carrabs listed in the phone book and I guess there will be more that are not listed as well.
