Hello,
I am having trouble identifying a word in death record #71 for Rosa Alvino
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/T ... 1,53004901
The word looks like "soprosesitto." It appears in the tenth line of the record before "giorno." I am trying to find out the date Rosa died, but this word is in my way.
Your help is greatly appreciated!

Re: Stuck on a Word
Hello
It says soprascritto giorno (day written above) so died the date of the record: 15 July 1870, 8 am.
Angela
Edit: The word "sopra" can mean "above" or "on" so I think that in this case it might be more accurate to say "on day written". (Just been thinking about this.)

Hi Angela!
Thanks for the help! I studied Spanish in school so I can get through most Italian.
Sobre = above & escrito = written in Spanish so the Italian word "soprascritto" makes to me. Thanks again for the explanation!

Re: Stuck on a Word
You are very welcome - I'm pleased I could help. If you have studied Spanish, I can imagine you would find Italian records manageable - it's just being able to decipher the script which can be tricky at times
