I am a newcomer to the site. I am searching for birth location and date for my grandmother.


This is what I know:

Caroline Delaurenti

Died 18 January 1958
Vandergrift, Pennsylvania


She probably crossed the ocean after 1912.

I greatly appreciate any help that might be available.

Husband's naturalization papers state her birthday as 7 March 1892.

EDITED TO ADD-- Also shows her birthplace as Ciccogno, Ivrea. Ivrea is a town in Torino; perhaps Ciccogno is an old name of a hamlet in the town.

Wife: Caroline – who he married 12 March 1912 in “Ciccogno, Italy” [I will need to search this…could be Ciconio - a neighboring town to Rivarolo Canavese ]
Arrived 13 October 1912 on SS La Provence at New York.

What are your thoughts.... Ciccogno - maybe this is Ciconio? near Rivarolo?

Hi T!

What threw me on the naturalization doc was the reference to Ivrea; on other DeLaurenti records I located, Ciconio was mentioned as the last residence or place of birth. So, Ciconio is the likely place of birth.
