Vagli Sotto - Once part of Massa e Carrara?
My understanding is that Vagli Sotto, which is part of the province of Lucca today, was, for a period of time in the 1800s, part of Massa e Carrara and then returned to Lucca through all of the changes that led to the nation of Italy being established. Can anyone confirm or provide any detail on this? Could this affect where some records may or may not be found related to Vagli Sotto?

According to this
http://www.amalaspezia.eu/garfagnana.htm
the entire Garfagnana area, including Vagli, became part of the province of Lucca in 1923.Before that it was indeed under Massa.
