I'm trying to locate the correct comune for this frazione.
I'm not sure if it is Giarratana or Monterosso Almo.

One would think but after speaking with someone in the comune they directed me to either Giarratana or Monterosso Almo

Hello,
If the documents or information you have specify "Montesano" I'd suggest you to address your research in Modica. There are two Churchs: St Giorgio and St Pietro.
San Giacomo and Montesano are very, very, close but, do not ask me why, for "San Giacomo" you'll find all the info in "Ragusa" or in (separate registries) "Ragusa Ibla". Instead for "Montesano" (which very close to Giarratana) you'll find out info in Modica.
I wish you all the best.

I found the documents I was looking for in Modica. After a conversation with a great city official, it was explained to me that after the Great War some things were moved to Modica, even though it makes sense for Ragusa.
