As I research more into Italian genealogy, I am finding areas that do not correlate with modern maps of regions, provinces and communes.
For example, Terra di Lavoro is now part of Caserta and Frosinone.
Is there a reference somewhere to find there areas?
Besides researching each one individually.

Re: Historical Maps & References
If you can read Italian, I am sure that you could research the history of provinces in Italy since the unification. There have been many provincial additions and changes since the formation of the Kingdom of Italy, continuing to very recent days.
I think it will be hard to find a map that summarizes these changes all in one place, but if you find one, be sure to post back here because it would be helpful to many I'm sure. As my name suggests, many of my ancestral towns were located in a now defunct province.
