Help with 2 Great Grandparents.Non-Italian Side of My Family

Post by jgenduso »

Hi Everyone,

I am in the midst of all my work with my Italian side of my family. I thought I'd take a break from transcribing 19th century Italian by working the other side of the family.

I could use some help finding any information for 2 Great Grandparents.

My grandmother was named Katherine Marion. Acoording to my research she was born in NYC, 20 Sep 1901. She was married to Walter Andrew Porzelt and died in Nov 1982 in Bergen County, NJ.

According to her SS-5 her parent's names were: Walter Marion and Sara A Moss. The wierd thing is that I can't find any US records for either of these folks.

Maybe it was to late and I was getting to tired but there wasn't anything in the census records I could find or anywhere else.

Any help would be appreciated. Any place to look would also.

Thank you in advance,

Joseph

Sorry Peter - I should have been more clear...my apologies.

I am looking for any info on Walter Marion or Sarah A Moss.

I have a ton of info on the Porzelt side and some good info of Katherine herself (from research), but that's where the trail stops, with her parents.

You're welcome Joseph! :D

I was noticing that a Catherine's possible brother on the 1910 census manifest was Lester Marion ...
on this database on Ancestry.com:
New York City Births, 1891-1902

found this record:
Name Lester B. Marion
Birth Date 19 Aug 1897
Certificate Number 37003

Maybe it could be helful order this birth certificate to see the real names of the parents?

Hi Joseph,
I am hoping that this site will notify you if I post a reply at this late date. I believe that your grandmother is my husband's great aunt. I have some information on the family and would love to compare notes with you on this elusive family.
