Travel Insurance question re: Italian citizenship

Post by signoretti »

Hello,

My mother, daughters and I will be traveling to Italy this summer to meet our Italian relatives for the first time ever!! So exciting!!!!

My mother, daughters and I are all dual American/Italian citizens. Our Italian passports have expired, so we are traveling to Italy under our US passports.

Do I need to purchase travel insurance while we are there even though we are citizens of Italy?

Thanks so much!
