I don't know if someone hacked antenati or some employee decided to have some fun, but some of the town names don't match. I very strongly doubt there are towns named "Let's poop" and "feed it" and "they enjoy it"
Also I can't find Cerda listed in the towns. It's probably listed with one of the fake names - can anyone help me out? I'm trying to find the marriage of Giuseppe Faso or LoFaso or Fusco
and Gaetana Muscarella which supposedly took place on 29 March 1873. I'd rather not have to try to find it on familysearch - it's always much more difficult to find records there as they lump everything together. Surely Cerda records must be on here - I could have sworn they were, but now I see nothing.
Link here: https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/search- ... %20Palermo of the names, and screenshot below since that doesn't seem to link directly to it.

Re: Italian town names on antenati - someone had some fun
It might be an issue of unwanted automatic translation, that makes no sense for town names.
From Italy, I see it with the actual Italian names.
Let's poop = Caccamo (if actually translated, should be "Cachiamo")
Flowery field = Campofiorito
Feed it = Alimena (it should be "Alimenta")
Cute = Carini
Look = Cerda (should be "Guarda")
Countess = Contessa
Lionheart = Corleone

Thanks! So someone didn't do this on purpose? It's so weird that many of the translated names are somewhat humorous and not all names got translated. I also noticed an "Island of the females"PippoM wrote: ↑06 May 2024, 08:35 It might be an issue of unwanted automatic translation, that makes no sense for town names.

Looks like unfortunately the records in Cerda skip from 1859 to 1911. I guess I have to check familysearch then. ;(
