Re: Information on Family Names Sabatino/Cecere

Hi suanj
Thank you for your help, just found more information. Antonio and Michele were brothers and Lucia was the sister. I think the Brother-in-law they were going to was in fact Lucia's husband (Cecere).
You are right that Antonio Sabatino's wife was Maria. Lucia was his sister and I think she ...

Information on Family Names Sabatino/Cecere

Trying to find information on Maria Sabatino, Antonio Sabatino, Michele/Michael Sabatino, Lucia . They were born in Preturo Irpino, Avellino, Southern Italy? They left from Naples in the late 1920s? I think Antonio married Lucia and Michele married Ida/Ada. Last known that they lived in Hollywood ...

Re: Has anyone ever heard this expression?

I had a laugh when I read all the Italian no sorry dialect words people still use. I was born in Volturara Irpina, Southern Italy but I live in the UK and CIUCCIO (donkey), CACCA means (poo or somethin dirty), my mother and mother-in-law always used to use those words when my children were small ...

Re: Monzione

Hi Emily! I'm so excited about hearing from you. I live in the UK though we have many relatives in Italy. I have just returned from there and as I'm trying to do a family tree I asked one of my aunty (your Great Aunt) about Filomena your Great Grandmother and she still had a letter that she wrote to ...

She used to talk about her sister that went to America when I was a little girl. Did you know that Filomena, apart from her two sisters Rosina and Letizia ...
