Re: I need help finding out about the family of DOMINICO STA

Evidence shows that all the Statti of Gizzeria and Nicastro are related, in fact, they all descend from the first one in Italy, Giovanni Statti, that come from Albania in 1500.

In the tree there are all the Statti of Gizzeria (together with the ancestor of MissJessie) and the barons of Nicastro ...

Re: hunting the calabrias in gizzeria

In the Ellis Island records you can read that

Gasperino Calabria has a wife Anna
a son Giulio and a daughter Palma and father Gennaro.

I think that this is enough to start a research into the
civil record of Gizzeria.

Re: FRANZE: No, it's Sicilian, really.

I can ensure you that the surname

Franzè and Franzì are italian, and are present in Italy (in Calabria) since 300 years or more.

Franze can be a variation of Franzè.

Re: Need info on Great-Grandparents G. Chirillo and T. Pascu

I forgot to tell you that Pavolo is the Gizzeria's dialect way to say Paolo.
The name Pascuzzi follows from the fact that in dialect people declinate surnames,
for instance Pascuzzo for a woman become Pascuzza, for a family become Pascuzzi, but in the
civil record it is always Pascuzzo.
