You are incorrect. There are death, marriage and birth registers kept. The poster wants a death record, so that is what they need to request as Suanj helped with the letter.

As jou know Italian languag uses specific affixes and suffixes when talking so that it is very specific

Nonna = grandma
Nonno = grandpa
Nonni = grandparents

often children and grandchildren of migrants tend to misuse or contaminate with English-like distortions the Italian language

May be I'm incorrect but usually the entry in the register is made on the birthdate,then all variations are just added up,residence status, marriage with dates,relocations to other shires,death.So you better say:
