In the FamilySearch online Termini records, you should also look under "Villaurea". It seems that most of the records for Termini Imerese were filed under that village. (Most of the records are for Termini Imerese, but you'll occasionally find small sections for Villaurea.)JamieK wrote:I am attempting to find a birth record for my Great-Great Grandfather Charles (Carlo) Leonardo Mormino. According to his death certificate (from IL in 1935) he was born in Termini Imerese around 1890 (although other documents point to anywhere between 1887-1890). The handwriting on the record is pretty bad but it looks like his father's name was Carmen and his mother's name was Rose.
Anyway, no luck with the birth record but I *may* have found the death record for your Great-Great Grandfather's father.

Deceased's name: Carmelo; deceased spouse's first name: Rosaria.
If this is the correct person, "Carmen" (Carmelo) died in December of 1889... which would definitely preclude any birth searches for "Charles" past 1890.
Also, I had no luck finding a marriage record for Carmelo Mormino in the Villaurea/Termini images, leading me to wonder: could he have moved from Termini to some other location, married, had a family, then moved back? Stranger things have happened.
Hope this helps!
