That still doesn't connect to the Salvia's on my tree, but one of these days, if we keep looking, we will find somebody who connects everything together!

Wow, too bad it's the only faded one on that page. I cropped it, darkened it, and sharpened it. Still can't make out any words except Zito.

Marty,
My cousins and I came up with another mystery and I said it sounds like a job for Marty!

First of all, There is a ship manifest where a Francesco Salamone was traveling with the mom and other relatives of my cousin (IG member "Maddipa") and he was going to visit his brother-in-law Nicola Salvia.

The only sister of Nicola Salvia that we know of is my great grandmother Maria Antonia who was married to Vincenzo Rappa.

So, Nicola must've had another sister who was married to Francesco Salamone.

Maddipa heard from another relative that Nicola had another sister named Bernadette or Benedetta who lived in NY.

But we can't find any records of this. Can you???

(The parents would be Giuseppe Salvia and Maria Concetta Grillo, and the daughter would've been born in the 1870's)

Thanks!

Hmm, that's a good question. We don't know anything about Francesco Salamone except what we saw on the ship manifest.
Maybe there's a marriage record for him that shows those sane parents and the name of the Salvia he married?

This should be some help: Custodio Petruso's baptismal record, dated 20 Jun 1880, at Santa Maria Magdalena Church, in Borgetto, showing he was the child of Sancto Petruso and Josepha Porcasi

Church baptismal record:
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1 ... cc=2046915

civil birth record:
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1 ... cc=2051639

His parents Sancto Petruso and Josepha Porcasi were married 2 Nov 1874, same church in Borgetto. Sancto's parents are listed as Benedetto Petruso and Anna Pirrone and Josepha's Parents are Custodio Poscasi and Xavieria(Saveria) Lopes. Sancto was age 30 and was 17

church record:

civil record:
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1 ... cc=2051639

Thanks Pontiusmaximus, those are my cousin Maddi's parents/grandparents and we were missing Josepha Porcasi (or at least I was) on the tree.

Marty, I thought I replied to you too but I don't see it.
The only reason we were really looking for info on Francesco Salamone was to find out who our missing Salvia relative was (if thats who he was married to) but it looks like he wasn't. Oh well, thanks though!

Hello. I’m a Petruso. I don’t know much but my grandfather was named Antonino Petruso. His father my great grandfather was named Giuseppe Petruso married to Maria Petruso. We are family from Borgetto. I don’t know if this helps
