Legalised and Translated Documents UK - Italian Citizenship by Descent

Hi,

I have been trying to look through the existing chat threads to confirm our next step for Italian Citizenship by Descent.

We have all our Birth Marriage Death certificates. The London Consolate seems to state that they need to be legalized and translated. Does that make the certificate "apostilles"?

Do I understand it correctly that you get your British certificates and documents legalised by the Legalisation office, or we can have them legalised by a UK solicitor? Is it also correct that you have them legalised first, THEN you have them translated? Are there any other documents that need to be legalised than BMD certificates?

In general the details about the documents needed can be found on the website of the competent consulate, as they may slightly vary from a Country to another.
You are a British citizen, living in the UK, asking Italian citizenship by descent from an Italian citizen?

That is correct.

I'm clear that that need to be legalised and translated. The particular question is whether the legalising requires a specialised solicitor or service?
