No, it's inapplicable.

I'm doing this through facebook.

It's a rather different context.

Christ, why can I read Italian 50x better than I can write it? :x

A quick little thing if anyone can translate...

Ok, so I tried to use google translation to try to contact a relative and it didn't work at all, so if I can have a solid translation of this it would help a lot:

"Hello _______,

Sorry about the poor translation I did before. Since it seems that the google translation doesn't work well at all, I ...

Re: Paid Professional Geneologists near FHL, Salt Lake City

I just paid someone for one hour to do some research at the FHL just to see what they find.

Does anyone have any experience with these companies (good or bad)?

While i've paid for researchers, i've only paid for ones IN Italy.

The LDS records are missing a substantial amount of data. Not just ...

Re: RUSSO'S IN AFRAGO, NAPLES

Yes I know, but I surprisingly do not get many responses regarding Russo's or other people related. I thought Russo was a very common name in Italy. Am I incorrect in thinking that? Does anyone have any history on Russo's?

Also, if you're expecting an immediate response, don't.

Re: DNA Testing?

Hi Guys,

Ok, the DNA tests have been fascinating for me. However, please remember that for each DNA test, you are only testing for ONE of your many ancestors lines. So, if a person gets a Y-DNA test and an mtDNA test, then out of their 8 great-grandparents, they only will know the ORIGIN of 2 of ...

Re: DNA Testing?

Well yes, but we were after something specific when we did the testing. We heard rumors that his grandfather and grandmother were cousins when they married. We were trying to disprove that theory. We did, but then we found out a whole lot of information that blew our minds. Unbelievable stuff. My ...

Re: DNA Testing?

Hi. I just did DNA testing for both of my parents through familytreedna.com I have to say that the experience was amazing. We just got our results back and we sent in our samples on February 9 so it was about 5 weeks. It was costly, because we did the full range, but I wouldn't have done it any ...

Re: Ancestry no longer at LDS family history centers

John, I hope you are refering to Ancestry. LDS is the "good guys" in this. While not a LDS member I have used their centers, staff support and access for 4 months. I would not have been able to accomplish my goal without their help.

Most of us are not willing to pay the $300 fee that Ancestry asks ...

Re: Ancestry no longer at LDS family history centers

I just read a bulletin that says full access to Ancestry.com will no longer be available at Family History Centers. Apparenty, Ancestry was providing the access at no charge and will discontinue the service as of April 1, 2007.

Glad to see they're becoming even more USELESS. :x

DNA Testing?

Hi,

I'm just curious if anyone has done any DNA testing, in terms of their own genealogy.

Is there any benefit to doing it?

What can I gain from such a test?

An example is this:
