Re: Help to get Ficarra Sicily Church Records
Yes thank you I went to Ficarra and searched the records. I hope to go back again sometime, when we are able to fly again so I can search for different records. All the best.

Re: Help wanted from Argentina
I wish I had the answers but unfortunately I dont as Ive not been at all successful in getting info from Argentina. You could try a guess re death period as I did. But admittedly I knew that my great grandmother was alive until the 1950's b/c she was still writing to my grandfather. So I guessed she ...

Re: Help wanted from Argentina
Hi Micheles,
Ive found Argentina to be really difficult to find info. You could try writing to the Civil Reg office in Buenos Aires and request a death record. The address is:
Registro civil
Uruguay 753 C.P 1018
Buenos Aires, Argentina
Give them an approximate range of years but no more than 10 ...

Re: Ficarra, Sicily Church Record in Latin Translation Help
Thank you Lucap,
I checked the date and you are right the records start at 1678 (sorry my mistake).
Yes I agree it does look like Vasili. The town of Naso is a nearby hilltop town so I think that's what it might be referring to.
Does the record have any ages for the bride or groom?
Can you read any ...

Weather is just gorgeous here. I live in Adelaide, South Australia but was born in QLD near Cairns and grew up in NSW. My ...

Re: Help wanted from Argentina
Hi Zagami,
I think its highly likely that Salvatore and Santo Zagami were related as there were not many Zagami's in Fiumefreddo di Sicilia in the late 1800's to early 1900's. My 2nd great greandfather Santo Zagami was born 15 Dec 1845 in Giampilieri. He died 18 Mar 1922 in Fiumefreddo di Sicilia ...

Re: Help wanted from Argentina
Unfortunately the genealogist I found couldnt find any death records or any information on my great grandmother, Carmela Zagami, who moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1913. She said the main problem is that I dont know who she married in Argentina which means I cant even search for the two ...

Re: Help reading this Surname Please
I now have read several other records with this name and it seems an error was made on this record. The surname is now appearing as "Lascari". Very different to the first record I read! I guess it just goes to show how important it is to cross check with other records.

Hi Anthony, Just wondering if you got the photos I sent of Paola Morabito's marriage and Francesco Morabito's marriage to Domenica Mondello? Let me know as I have a few others you might like also.
