Ficarra, Sicily Church Record in Latin Translation Help

Post by Lili2 »

Hi Everyone,
I was recently in Sicily and visited the Church at Ficarra. I was able to get some photos of some marriage records. The Marriage records there start in 1768. This record is the marriage of Domenico Calabrese. I cant read the date so Im not certain if this Domenico is the one Im looking for. Also Im puzzled by the name of his parents. If I read it correctly his father is unknown and his mother is Antonina Visali? from the town of Naso?
Your comments are much appreciated.
Thanks in advance as I cant always respond quickly.
Regards, Lili
PS its the last entry on the page.

Thank you Lucap,
I checked the date and you are right the records start at 1678 (sorry my mistake).
Yes I agree it does look like Vasili. The town of Naso is a nearby hilltop town so I think that's what it might be referring to.
Does the record have any ages for the bride or groom?
Can you read any surnames for the bride's mother?

That's great, this really helps me alot.

Can you read any surnames for the bride's mother? No, it only says that Anna is still living while Michele is already died
