Re: Help reading document

Thank you for the assist. The pic online was not great to begin with.

I was thinking that it said that his parents were unknown. Interestingly enough, while they went by Dolce, his son used both Dolce and Proietto. I wonder if this is because his dad's surname was unknown. I'm sure we can't prove ...

Help reading document

I am having trouble reading the marriage record, which is attached. I'm looking at Josephi (Guiseppe) and Vincentia Cimino, which is the 1st full record on the left hand side of the page. Does Josephi have a last name, and does it list parents for either of them? I cannot make out a last name, and ...

Re: Help deciphering marriage records

That's possible. I do have her father's (Ignazio Dolce) birth record and his parent's surnames are Dolce and Cimino. I haven't been able to find his death record, so maybe it's the change in the last name. Kids born to them later are also under Dolce. I guess that last name issue will remain a ...

Help deciphering marriage records

I have been searching for marriage records for a great-aunt Anna Dolce. I have located 2 marriage records, one from the sponsali book and one in a matramoni book. Both marriage records id her as Proietto Annam (Dolce Annam) and name her parents as Ignatius Dolce and Angela Piazza. Husband is ...

Need assist with Names

I am looking at the name for the bride and her parents. Groom is Josephum Dolce. I have a photo of their grave, ubt her name is partially hidden with flowers. I believe her first name may be Caterina, but not sure on the last name -- Leto maybe? though the T looks like an X. Her dad looks like ...

What town is the Groom From:

Can someone help me understand where Giovanni Torcia is from? I am looking at record 29 on the right hand side - marriage of Giovanni Torcia and Teresa Romano. I think it reads that he is the son of "Camillo and Giovanna Torcia della Chiara delli Greci." Is this the same town as Piana degli Albanese ...

Help with marriage record

Can I get some help with the attached marriage record for Angelo Giaconia and Giovanna Di Gesu, entry 5 on p. 22? First, I am looking at Angelo's mother. It looks like her name is "Inifania", but I'm not sure. Second, I'm looking at where Angelo is from. I believe it says "Casselbono". Is this the ...

Thanks for your thoughts! I was hopeful on this too, so I'm going to use it, but document how I came my conclusion.

Re: Can someone help me with birth record

Sorry...as I'm reading my posts, I realized I missed a step...so here's a summary of the background, Francisco Cassara (my 7th great-grandfather) is the son of Antonino and Lucrezia Cassara. The original post was about his sibling Giovanna that had the name "Cassara alias lo Sardo" and I was ...

Re: Can someone help me with birth record

Here's the image for the possible birth record of Francesco.

Also, since my original post, I just started searching Francesco's parents, Antonino Cassara and Lucrezia Pinnico. I just found that Antonino's parent's are Paolo Cassara and Benedetta Sardisco (Francesco's grandparents). I'm attaching ...

Re: Can someone help me with birth record

Thanks. That makes sense.

This may be a stupid follow up but I am hoping to cover all my bases...I was able to locate all of his siblings' birth records, but not his. There was a hint on Ancestry which had his DOB as 7/30/1665. I know these hints aren't always acccurate, so I always confirm with ...
