I'm looking for any information of Vella Family History including Family Coat of Arms relating to a Vella Family living in Trapani, Sicily for up to 5 generations or more ago. I believe a coat of arms existed that went missing in th last 50 years, there was also a substantial family tree that went missing in the last 50 years that dated back to the 11th Century. I would appreciate any information at all. The coat of arms featured a golden eagle.
Also the descentants included names such as Baldassare and Giovanni, if this helps.

If you go to www.google.com and insert in the title Vella Surname genealogy Trapani Sicily and see if anyone has already researched your surname or is currently inthe process. Further if you go to www.stemmario.it (It is in Italian) and insert Vella under cognomi you willfind two family crests. Postscript: there are 350 persons listed in the www.familysearch.org Mormon church website reflecting the worldwide distribution of the Vella surname and many are listed for Sicily but none for Trapani.
