I've phoned the atendant at Arquivo Nacional (national archive). She told me that, in a certain time, there was an average of 100 ships arriving Brasil. So it's almost imossible find a family withou knowing the ship name, or date of arrival.

Unfotunally, I don't have any data about the arrival of my mother's side family. Only information I have is the aproximated year (1888).

Memorial do Imigrante has registers only for families that stayed at least one night at the immigrant hostelry.

Unfortunally my family shouldnt have spend some time at the hostelry, because there's no registers of them there.

si necessito ! estou atrás de possíveis parentes (com sobrenome santamaria) que imigraram de Ramacca e Raddusa (Sicília) para os estados unidos. Tenho comigo algumas correspondências que foram escritas por Carmelo Santamaria da cidade de Greensburg PA, por volta de 1953/1955. Nas correspondências ele citava que tinha os seguinte filhos: Emil, Joe, Serafino, Anthony e Sara. é possível que sejam meus parentes e gostaria de tentar localizar alguma informação ..

com relação aos imigrantes italianos que ingressaram no Brasil, posso ajudar através do site projeto imigrantes .. eles têm arquivo por sobrenome com diversas informações .. graças a elesque consegui localizar um antepassado que imigrou para o Brasil em 1893 .. caso alguém neecssite ajuda, estou a disposição .. posso inclusive obter a listagem de ingresso no Brasil pelo sobrenome e postar peo correio !
