Looking for Oreste Fuime mother and father. He was born ,May 26 1876 in Naples Italy. I was told no one knows his family because he was an orphan. I know about the family he started but we dont know any previous relatives. Anything would be helpful thanks. H e was also married to Maria Rizzo who was also born in Naples in 1876 and then they stated a family in the US. Thanks

I don't know if you mis-typed, but I just wanted to point out that the surname "Fuime" is non-existent in modern Italy whereas "Fiume" is somewhat common. See this site.

If you haven't done so already, you may want to use a form letter generator such as this one to request his birth certificate from Napoli. Even as an orphan, there will likely be a birth certificate on file; the problem is that he may not have been born in Comune di Napoli but rather in one of the many surrounding comuni. At any rate, it is won't cost anything (except perhaps postage) to ask...

Dear Flatfoot Arte yousure that Orestes was born inthe city of Naples or was he born in the province of Naples? Often people say Naples as their city of origin but mean their place of origin may be a town or village in the province of Naples.

Further if you know it is the city of Naploli you willneed to know the address for the Ufficio di Stato Civile if unknown to you.

Even further you might want to explore your family biological or adopted family by going toyour nearest Mormon family historylibrary (www.familysearch.org for nearest location to your home) and rent out microfilm of civil records of Orestes birth and perhaps be able to trace it back to the early 1800's. =Peter=

I noticed that Orest at the time of his arrival on 1899 stated he was joining his brother in law Vincenzo Pirozzi (address: 482 Hudson street NYC)....

Maybe this is another clue???

On the 1930 Census for Oreste Finner (poor transcription of Fiume) below his children is listed a brother-in-law "Edward Rizzo, 64, actor..."

Found a 1909manifest for Edoardo Rizzo, 4x, actor, from Napoli. Leaves behind father Giuseppe in Napoli.

Since I haven't found a manifest for Maria Rizzo, I thought this would give a good clue to her father's name, GIUSEPPE...

It certainly appears that Naples may be the birth location.
