How exactly do you say the law of Jure Sanguinis anyhow? Is the j silent in Italian?

The phrase is LATIN folks and the Italian pronunciation would be like GIURO=JEWRO (Giuro means oath) =Peter=

The "Ju" in Jure Sanguinis is pronounced as "You"

The sentence is translated in Italian as "per diritto di sangue", "by right of blood". See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jus_sanguinis

Also, I believe it is often latinized to "ius".

At least one of the consulate websites shows it that way... which one was it... okay, Houston is one: http://www.conshouston.esteri.it/Consol ... tadinanza/

Also, the Washington DC embassy: http://www.ambwashingtondc.esteri.it/Am ... tadinanza/

London consulate: http://www.conslondra.esteri.it/Consola ... tadinanza/

Sydney Australia consulate: http://www.conssydney.esteri.it/Consola ... tadinanza/

And so on.

Ius (or Jus) is the nominative form, Iure (Jure) is the ablative form.

Jus sanguinis = diritto di sangue = blood right
Jure sanguinis = per diritto di sangue = by blood right
