San Francisco Consulate--apostilles?

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

San Francisco Consulate--apostilles?

Post by cannoli »

My mother and I are applying together. She meets qualifications for #3 and I meet qualifications for #5. I am not a minor. I am referring to the document from the San Francisco Consulate pasted below (excerpts). Found by clicking Jure Sanguinis at: http://www.conssanfrancisco.esteri.it/C ... tadinanza/

I am in the process of gathering documents. As I read it, the only apostille we need is for the marriage certificate of my mother and father. Is that correct?

Essentially, all birth/marriage/death certificates issued by any government entity other than Italiy need to be apostilled.

I hope that answers your question. :)

I'm not 100% sure for you or your mom since I don't know if its through her GM or GF, but I made an assumption of GF. I had to get most of my US documents apostilled. It says in the info document...

"4) Documents issued in Countries other than the U.S.A. or Italy must comply with the local regulations on the legalization of documents, they must be legalized [Apostilled] in the Country of issue, and must be accompanied by a translation into Italian, certified by the Italian Consulate in that country. To find out how a document should be legalized in its country of origin you may contact the competent Italian Consulate/Embassy. A list of all Italian Consulate/Embassies abroad is available at www.esteri.it ( “Farnesinaâ€
