Hi I don't know if this is the right place for this thread but i am travelling to Camogli on the 16th Oct and i am looking at going to Genoa via RyanAir I have found trains but was wondering where i can find out about bus travel and if anyone knows how good or bad the public transport is. My other option is to go to Pisa but it is a 2hr - 3hr train journey to Camogli.
Any info would be most appreciated.
Many THanks
Ian

You might get more helpful responses to this query at the ExpatsInItaly forum, http://expatsinitaly.com/phpbbforum/vie ... eb18b010ad
Beyond that, I have found Italy's public transporation to be as good or better than anything I have encountered in the US.

Camogli is on the main rail line between Genoa and La Spezia, although not all trains stop there. A frequent and cheap bus service runs from Rapallo and Santa Margherita. From Camogli's harbour passenger boat services run up or down the coast during the summer season: the ticket office stands nearby. Out of season, a smaller boat runs several times a day - if sea conditions allow - the short distance round the cape as far as San Fruttuoso.

Repetto Europe and Italian travel facilities far exceed the quality of transportation that we enjoy inthe USA and 2-3 hours on an Italian train is not anyway near railroad travel or bus inthe States.
I rented a house Near Florence and took a bus to the Firenze RR station (20 minutes) and commuted to Rome on the super speed trains 2 hours spent the day in Rome touring and trains depart hourly and you can either dine on the train or just take your city bus home to either dine out or cook yourself and pick the olives off the tree if your there in October. =Peter=
