To request death records from Texas:

http://www.dshs.state.tx.us/vs/reqproc/deathcert.shtm

Birth, marriage and death records for Lentini are available on microfilm from a family history center of the LDS church. Some larger libraries are also able to order the microfilm for you.

http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library ... umns=*,0,0

A post by Trish on how to get and use the microfilm. I believe the current rental price is $5-$6 a roll as rates just went up.

Hi there! (I met you in the Blogs section)...

You can also request the copy of birth act, or birth certificate writing to:

Comune
Ufficio di Stato Civile
Piazza Umberto I, 31
96016 Lentini (SR)
Italy

or to

Archivio di Stato
Via Tucidide, 24
96100 Siracusa
Italy

I hope it helps, bye Riccardo

Sam Maglitto Census Record: Texas, 1920
Age: 47
Gender: M
Race: W
Birthplace: ITALY
State: TX
County: BRAZOS
Locale: 4-PCT

1920 census

Now... that's a full house!

Also, looks like his brother/wife/children live nearby...

-----------------

This is a ships record of Cirina Aparo and her children Fildelfo and Agata.

On page 1, it mentions that her mother in Italy is Agata Utrata (sp?).. and the address in Lentini would be #10 Via Fontanella.

Final Destination would be Brooklyn, New York

On page 2, it mentions that the father is Salvatore Maglitta, with an address of 179 Columbia St., Brooklyn, New York.

First Name: Filadelf
Last Name: Maglitto
Ethnicity: Italian, South Italian
Last Place of Residence: Lentini, Italy
Date of Arrival: Aug 02, 1907
Age at Arrival: 4y Gender: M Marital Status: S
Ship of Travel: Calabria
Port of Departure: Naples
Manifest Line Number: 0025

page 1

page 2

--------------------------------------

Further.... found this info on a message board... birth and death dates are the same as those you posted.

" Because marriage records from Lentini,Sicily have parents of bride and groom was able to conclude the following:

"Sam" Maglitto 1876-1928 and Cirina Aparo 1883-1920.

Sam Maglitto was the son of Filadefo Maglitto and Sebastiana Caracciolo.
Filadelfo Maglitto was the son of Cirino Maglitto and Casonia Giamaggo.
Sebastiana Caracciolo was the daughter of
Filadelfo Caracciolo and Michelangela Micarno.

Cirina Aparo was the daughter of Alfio Aparo and Agata Urrata.
Alfio Aparo was son of Filadelfo Aparo and Cirina Mario.
Agata Urrata was the daughter of Francesco Urrata and Carmiela Pardo.

I'm sure of these are probably misspelled because in some places the microfilm was hard to read. Please let me know if you have any info on any of these.
"
-----------------------------------

also....

" Marriage record from 1899 indicate Cirina was the daughter of Alfio Aparo and Agara Urata??..
Salvatore was son of Filadelfo Maglitto and Sebastiana Caracciolo. They were also the parents of Giuseppe and Michelangelo who migrated to the US as well as several who stayed in Lentini,Sicily including Francesco who married Concetta Picarruao?? daughter of Fildelfo and her mother was Caterina Maglitto --so maybe these were cousins.
