I'm looking for the probable family connection in Italy between several Pagliaro brothers and sisters born most likely near Cosenza who immigrated together in 1896:
Domenico Pagliaro b. abt 1856
Carmino Pagliaro b. abt 1866 in Donnici
Rosina Pagliaro b abt 1869, married Pietro Felice in Italy
and a cousin Bruno Pagliaro b abt 1873 (later moved to Connecticut)
I also have
Gaetano Pagliaro b. 1872, immig 1901 NY then to Trenton, I can't find his connection to Domenico, Carmino and Rosina, although they all lived in Trenton, NJ in the same neighborhood...
Gaetano's brother, Giuseppe b abt 1868, immig record not confirmed - could be 1894...stayed in NY
The information I have is from Ship Manifests & US Census Records
I'm stuck. Any direction would be appreciated.
Thanks, Valarie

Re: Pagliaro from Cosenza to Trenton, NJ
Hi Valerie,
If you mean they are from the city of Cosenza you can research birth, marrige and death records on microfilm available from the LDS church family history center.
Look up the birth record of each individul and see if they have the same parents.

What part of Trenton did the settle in? I grew up in the Trenton suburbs.

Re: Pagliaro from Cosenza to Trenton, NJ
Debbie, thanks for your help.
Unfortunately I believe they are from the area around Cosenza.
The family's best guess is Donnici Inferiore.
They all lived in the Chambersburg area near the Roebling plant.
Some of the former addresses: 123 Dye, 123 Mott, 525 S Clinton, 137 Genessee, 403 Elmer, 517 Stuyvesant, 413 Whitaker, my G Grandfather
Gaetano Pagliaro built the family home at 1035 Revere.
Other related family names from the neighborhood are Gatto and Tucci.
I'm working on a probable Felice connection.
I've never been to Trenton, but my mother grew up there and loved it.
Thanks again, good idea about LDS. Valarie

My Grandfather was Carmen Pagliaro. He was born around 1884 and lived in Donnici Cosenza until his death in 1972. My mother told me that my grandfather went to the USA in the New York area with other relatives from Donnici and half of them returned to Italy. My Grandfather had brothers and sisters. One of his sister was Filomena Pagliaro and she married Raffaele Bozzo. One of his brothers was Jovani and I can't remember the rest. I don't know what my grandfather's parents names were but I'll ask my dad and see if I can find anything out.

Re: Pagliaro from Cosenza to Trenton, NJ
here is a link to the Archivio di stato di Cosenza that has birth, marriages and death records from the whole province, not all records are done but you could probably get a lot of info and keep checking till they add more, supposedly they are uploading records from 1800 to 1900(it used to be 1935), all you have to do is register and its free, don't forget to change the language to English

it looks like Lorenzo and Rosaria Amendola got married on 17 Dec 1865 in the comune of Rogliano, cosenza. Lorenzo was a muratore.
