Help reading a birth record for Antonio Musciotto

Post by molan »

Hi, please help us (Paula Musciotto) read a Birth record from Geraci Siculo.
The record is located here:
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cat=486172

Images 2063-4.

It is part of the Allegatti for the marriage of Antonio Musciotto & Maria Grazia Valenza from 1878 #5.

It is for Antonio Musciotto, Cert # - 75 - 1851.

I've attached copies of the record also.
Thank you once again,
Gary

Extract of Birth Act No 75: Antonio Musciotto
Geraci (Siculo): 8 May 1851, 4 pm

Appearing before the official was Anna Vaccarella, 59 yo, Levatrice (midwife), living in Geraci, Strada della Madonna, who presented a second? male (so he was a twin?) who she stated was born from Maria Suppa, 32 yo, living in Geraci, Strada delle Mura, and from Giuseppe Musciotto, 34 yo, vaccaro, living therein, on 8 May 1851, at 2 pm in the house house where they lived. The neonate was given the name Antonio.

Antonio Musciotto was baptised in the Parish of Geraci on the same day, 8 May 1851.

Welcome back, Gary (and Paula :) ).

presented a male that was personally seen by the officer
The (now obsolete and misleading) wording in Italian is "presentato un maschio secondo che abbiamo ocularmente riconosciuto"

Thank you so very very much again Angela for helping us (and Paula) out with the translation. Paula is our newest patron at our Family History Center who is in search of her Sicilian roots. Your help, as always, is so very much appreciated. :))

and thank you also Livio for adding your proof reading skills to the translation. Again, your help is also so greatly appreciated.

Glad I could help. Welcome Paula! It's always great to have the backup, wisdom and knowledge from our native speakers of Italian here. This is a great learning site.
