Good morning,
I have found myself in a mystery with my 2nd Cousin, deceased in 2008. Here is the story; I have a second Cousin in the name of Ida Irene Romano. Ida was born in January 11, 1919 in Manhattan. She was married at a very early age of 15/16 to a man in the name of Luigi DiSantis. He was born in Italy. They had 2 children, Carmine and Maria. Ida, later on in her life remarried, and subsequently had other children, one child in the name of Tom, named after his Dad Thomas Stewart.
Tom, Ida's son and I are connected as we are 3rd Cousins. This we know through our DNA history. Now, here is what I know about the "Romano" family; I had 3 family members that came to America from Sicily, my Grandmother, her Sister and Brother. Their names are Guisepina, Grazia and Gaetano Grazia respectively. My Grandmother married Vincenzo Noce, my Grandmother's Sister married Guiseppe "Romano", and my Grandmother's Brother married a widow and she had a son.
Guiseppe and Grazia Romano a/k/a Joseph and Grace Romano had these children; Filippa (Fanny), Michele (Mike); they were born in Sicily; Charlie, Sam, and Sarah; they were born in America. In the 1920 New York Census, it shows that their last child is Sarah and she was just born. These children are my 2nd cousins.
The boys, Mike, Sam and Charlie were too young to have children;11-7-4 respectively.
There is a story that Ida Irene Romano was adopted at a very early age because her parents died. I don't remember any stories that Grazia died at a young age. Ida was introduced to a family in the name of Tolaro, Sabastiano and his wife.
The only connection that I know of with Ida is my Grandmother's Sister Grace Romano. I can not find any other information online regarding her parents, who are my 2nd cousins. I have hit a road block. I would like to know if you can help me with this mystery, who are her parents?
Thank you in advance for any information you provide.
Josephine

Re: 2nd Cousins
If you only known connection to Ida is through the DNA connection to her son Tom, perhaps the connection is to Tom's father, not Ida.
