Can anyone please help?? I am looking for my "Malone" ancestors from Corleone.
Does anyone know if there is an "Italian" spelling of Malone?
I cannot find them anywhere on passenger list.
I did find them in Alton, Illinois on the 1920 Census and 1930 Census and the last name was spelled "Malone". But I cannot seem to find them anywhere else.
My grandmother: Concetta "Mary" Malone.
Her Father: Joe Malone
Brother: Luke Malone
I would appreciate any suggestions.

This is difficult. Could be Maloni, Malono, Molinari, or any of a lot of variations.
Bear in mind also, that all the children born after Luke were born in the state of Louisiana. Particularly since they are Sicilian, very likely they landed at the Port of New Orleans...not Ellis Island.
Stated they landed in 1900...may have to go to the NARA or the Family History Library (FHL) and search for passenger arrivals to New Orleans...should be on microfilm. Go to www.familysearch.org to find the numberbs for the microfilms. If they became citizens, might be able to track that info back as well.........

There are two enteries for a Luke Malone in Alton...One son of Joe, one son of Ben...in fact, Ben and Joe might be related. If you search for "Joe" rather then Luke, you will find it. Don't believe Luke is indexed in Joe's family, but definately on the census page.

You are right Essgee... there are 2 entries for Luke but the only problem is that Maria is not mentioned on this Census... maybe married by then...

This is the info that I have, most are from Death Certificates on the Malone/Melone family:
Mary (Maria) Malone/Melone married my grandfather Jasper (Gaspare) St. George (Sangiorgi), but I DO NOT have dates or location....still searching that. ANY IDEAS?

Pete St. George (my father) born 1918
Rose or Mary Rose St. George born approx 1920 or 1921.
Luke St. George born 1922, died Aug. 1924 approx 2 years old.
All lived in Alton, Illinois in the 1920's and 1930's. BUT I CANNOT find my dad (Pete St. George) birth certificate anywhere. I have checked with St. Marys church ...nothing there.

Also...just a little note****according to the 1930 Census..my father Pete, his brother Joe, and sister Rose were in the Roman Catholic Orphange...AND I have the records coming to me anyday now...it took me a year...but I found the Orphanage and have contacted them...they do have my fathers records!!!!!!!

Hate to burst the bubble, but the Maria Milone Pirrone is the wife of Francesco, the man she is traveling with. Her age is way off. And according to the 1920 census, Concetta arrived in the US ion 1900...which is the date for the rest of the family. I tend to believe that you will need the New Orleans Records....
Now, if someone can locate this family in 1910 census, it would help a great deal... Might explain some things. I have tried all the children, the ages, etc for both Louisiana, Illinois, and for some, the whole US with not help.
