I am in the midst of trying to tie together some of my family's genealogy.

Some of the surnames that run through the family are: Traniello/Troniello, Scipione, Lagorio, and Deferrari. There are probably more but I'm still trying to work my way back through the family. If you should have any information that might help, please let me know.

Let's see... my goal is to pull together a family tree of both sides of my family and possibly a family history of information gathered to share with others.

Traniello/Troniello - Coat of arms states Troniello but all I've known the family name to be is Traniello. My grandfather, Angelo, came to the US when he was 1 years old from Gaeta, Italy in the early 1900s. There are numerous people in the family named Antonio, Maria, Rosa, etc. but it is very hard to track down who is his brother/sister, cousin, nephew/niece, etc. Settled for the most part in Massachusetts.

Scipione/Lagorio - I understand the part of the family came from Gaeta and some came from Genoa but I am unsure where and when it occurred. My grandmother who married Angelo was a Scipione and her mother was Ida Lagorio (born in US or Italy unknown). Settled for the most part in Massachusetts.

Deferrari were extended family and somehow connected to the Scipione/Lagorio part of the family through great grandparents generation, I believe.

I would also be interested in the future to obtain information regarding the Irish side of my family with the names of Skahan and Deignan that settled in the United States. For the most part, I know only enough information for 3 generations on the Skahan side of the family (but know very little about the Deignan family from Ireland. My grandmother was Sarah M. Skahan who married Joseph Francis Deignan.

Wow, this is great! Some of these names are sounding familiar from some of my nana's stories when I was a child. However, my grandmother, Frances, was born in 1908 to Ida Lagorio Scipione and Charles Scipione. I really don't think it possible that my grandmother was born when her own mother was 13 years old... perhaps this is a relative. I look forward to learning more. Mille Grazie!

Charles immigration is listed as 1891, naturalized 1911.
The parents birthplace for Ida is clearly Italy, as is listed on 1910
census....someone goofed at ancestry with the Indian territory birthplace!!!

My grandfather, Angelo Traniello, came over when he was in the vicinity of 1 year of age as he was born August 4, 1904. I'm still trying to decifer which one he is because I know he had a sister Marie who could have been Maria but the question is, which one is she since Rosa, Maria and Antonio were popular names in the family.

Rita Scipione's husband I recall him living a very long life due to his faithful rowing on the Charles River but the unfortunate thing is that I only know him by his nickname which was "Zeus" Wade... so I'm not sure about the name John Edwards... but the year of death sounds about accurate since he would have passed within the past 10 years.
