Are there any, really "free" genealogy websites, to search for things, such as birth, death, or any type of certificates? I know about Ellis Island, but, can't find a website to search for any other information, that doesn't charge for that service.

Free US records would depend on your family's
US location.
Let us know the locations/years and see if we can
find a free link for you.
The best bargain if you're looking for Italian records
is your local Family History Center.
(if there's one nearby)
If you know your family's original town in Italy,
they may have the civil records on microfilm for you
to order (nominal fee)
Quite a few of the forum members have subscriptions
to some major US sites if you would like us to look
anything up for you.
Just let us know what you need & we'll see what we
can do!
