Missing Antenati records for 1815 Lapio

Post by Waylon »

Hi, I am researching the Antenati records for Lapio, Avellino, Campania and noticed that there are no records of any sort for the year 1815. My understanding is that the Antenati records are a copy and there could be originals somewhere (Maybe in Lapio)? I wanted to see if anyone had any knowledge about this particular situation, or where I could possibly look for the missing records for 1815. Thank you!

Maybe there's another copy at the Town Offices of Lapio.
But even if it exists it can't be available for extensive, private search.
Unless they have a Town History Archive.

Many towns are missing that particular year of records. It was the year Napoleon was ousted and I think the registration must have stopped as a form of celebration.
