Looking for biological father

Post by Frederique1974 »

Hello,

I'm sorry to write you in English language. My name is Frederique, born in 1974 and living in Belgium now.
I was raised in The Netherlands, because my biological mother (Diane Verhaeven, Belgian woman) gave birth there and left me in hospital. I have been adopted and grew up close to Amsterdam.

I am looking for my biological father, who is Italian (by dna test 23andme). My biological mother first told me she has no information, but he is Moroccan. After the years go by, I realized she lied to me. Now I was ready for the dna test and the outcome doesn't surprise me. Apulia and Sicily have the highest match, but he definately is from South of Italy.

Is there any chance finding relatives or are there other ways I could follow?

Thank you very much in advance for eventual replies 😊

Your best bet is to upload your DNA kit to other websites, particularly myheritage.com, and look for close matches. You'll have to then either rely on the tree information provided by those matches, or construct their trees yourself to find a potential common ancestor.

The AncestryDNA test will show relatives who have also taken the test. You can contact them through the website.
