I searched the forums for my maternal great grandparents, Ernesto Mussolino and Giuseppina Lanzaro, but I think this will be the first post about them as far as I can tell. They both immigrated to the US where they were married and eventually died. I'm trying to narrow down where they were born so I can request birth certificates, and any further information available about their parents. I've done a lot of searching on Ancestry, FamilySearch, and fumbled my way through the Portale Antenati. Here is everything I've been able to dig up so far:
- Ernesto Mussolino, born 14 May 1873 in Italy. Passenger lists indicate Napoli was his last residence in Italy before arriving in New York on 16 Jul 1897. Married Giuseppina Lanzaro 18 Mar 1906 in Hoboken, New Jersey. Died 30 Jan 1919 in Hoboken, New Jersey.
- Father of Ernesto: Nicola Mussolino, born about 1840 in Palermo. Arrived in the US 27 Aug 1907 with two daughters Raffaela Mussolino and Teresa Mussolino. Marital status at the time indicates he was a widow. Died November 1913 in Hoboken NJ.
- Mother of Ernesto: Giovanna Cozzolino, birth date unknown. Died some time prior to 27 Aug 1907 presumably in Italy.
- Giuseppina Lanzaro, born about Jun 1878 in Italy. She became a widow prior to 1906 to a man with the surname Manfra. I could not find a US arrival record for her. Died December 1942 in Hoboken, New Jersey.
- Father of Giuseppina: Sebastiano Lanzaro. Believed to have died in Hoboken NJ in 1902. No other details available.
- Mother of Giuseppina: Filomena Stefanelli. No other details available.
