Help regarding Cosmo Cirillo Born 25 May 1894 Molfetta

I am looking for any information regarding Cosmo Cirillo Born 25 May 1894 in Molfetta.
We know nothing about his family, except that his father owned a shop in Molfetta.
Cosmo married Antonia Candida (we know her as Antonetta) on 22 July 1920 in Molfetta and then they emigrated to Adelaide, South Australia

Tried looking for Cosmo Cirillo in Portale Antenati and go no answers, so then I changed it from Cirillo to Cirilli and the result I got was Cosmo Cirilli with the same date of birth.
The father was Sergio Cirilli and mother Carmela Pansini – this was new to me and I thought I was getting somewhere.

The link took me to 3 names that I did not recognise, then went the index and his registration number should be 682 – there was a different name on the paper for number 682.

No sure where to go to from here, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Though the name in the record is Giacomo, the side annotation says that it was corrected to Cosmo by a judgment of the Court of Trani. Besides, maybe because a clerical error, the surname in the side column is mistaken, too.
Notice that one of the witnesses was Cosmo Cirilli, 44 years old, shop-owner. Maybe he was his uncle.

Is it common to be know as Cirilli and change it to Cirillo?

I was hoping to see a side note that he married Antonio Candida so that I knew he was our "Cosmo"

I presume the only way to find the marriage record (22 July 1920) would be if I went to Molfetta?

You don't have to go there necessarily.
You can try to write to the Comune di Molfetta, and request a "estratto di matrimonio con i nomi dei genitori".
Don't say it's for genealogical research, or they probably won't do it.
Say it's for request of citizenship.

You can also try contacting NAA (Nation Archives Australia) - when you search for Cosmo he does have a couple of files to his name which could help your research. He arrived in SA 1921 then it says he nominated for his sister in-law Maria Domenica in 1934 so that's also worth a try.

thanks for your help - I am familiar with National Archives - the one I want where he is requesting to be naturalised is a closed paper. I will need to go to Canberra to the library to view it. I am also hopeful that the name of his parents are on the form.

I wonder why it's a closed paper? Usually for about $30 they release that archive... how frustrating. Are you in Australia? I noticed that Antonia Candida's brother Nicolo made it to Australia as well, but on the FamilySearch tree nothing was noted of his marriages... is there a reason for that? NAA have paperwork saying Nicolo's first wife died young but they had 2 children, he then re married a lady named Maria Louisa Mezzine nee` De Gennaro who was also from Molfetta.

Yes, I am in Australia,
A lot of naturalisation papers are available for free from National Archives of Australia.
Back then you had to place an advert in the newspapers of your intention to apply for Naturalisation. I was able to find that advert and then through more searching I found in a Commonwealth of Australia Gazette that Cosmo Cirillo date of Naturalisation was 12 Sept 1928. That is all good but I would like to see the papers that he submitted to the government as I am hoping that his parents names are on his submission.
I submitted an on line form for a copy of his papers to National Archives but never heard back from them!

Concerning Nicolo - there was a family feud concerning him...... Nicolo he arrived in Adelaide on 14 March 1925.
