Best approach to find a cousin in Giarre, Sicily

My mother in law wants to find and write to a cousin she has. She hasn't seen the cousin for 40 years and is not sure she's still alive. The cousin was born in the US - but went back to Sicily with her mother when she was a child. My mother in law reconnected with her around 1970, but has lost touch again.

I know her name and the comune she lived in. I know the year she was born. Any advice on how to find out if she's still alive and what her address is?

Use this Italian phone book site. For cognome type in the LAST name, for nome type in the FIRST name. For dove - type in the comune.
You will get a list of the current residents listed in the phone book. Your mother-in-law may recognize someone.

Thanks - that's exactly what I was looking for. Found 4 people with her name in Giarre - so we'll just send out 4 copies of the letter.
